The mammography department performs routine screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and needle localization of breast nodules or masses. The department is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
A 64-slice CT scanner is available on a 24/7 basis to diagnose many conditions that are found in the human body including but not limited to: cardiovascular accidents, pulmonary embolisms, renal stones, spinal fractures, aortic aneurysms, and various tumors of the body. This modality is heavily utilized by the emergency department with real-time results reporting via teleradiolgoy.
A wide range of MRI procedures of the body are available. MRI provides highly detailed images of the body and assists primarily in the diagnosis of various conditions of the brain, spine, and extremities.
Many types of diagnostic ultrasound procedures are available including abdominal, pelvic, cardiac, vascular, and small parts.
A dual-head nuclear camera is available to perform a full range of scans including liver/spleen, bone, lung, thyroid, renal, and exercise cardiac stress tests.
A high-tech C-Arm imaging system is available to the surgery department. This technology allows the surgeon to view real-time images of the body in order to insert catheters and pacemakers or to manipulate and align bones during orthopedic surgery.
