Desoto Regional provides a growing range of healthcare services to the people of Desoto and the surrounding parishes, and to the counties and communities of east Texas. Our services include:

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH UNIT — A Medicare Inpatient Psychiatric Unit that is licensed for 14 beds. Dr. John Richie is the attending psychiatrist and is part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of RNs, LPNs, MHTs, Social Services, PTs, and Clergy. BHU serves adults, 18 years and older.

CARDIOLOGY — Board Certified Cardiologists from both Ark-La-Tex Cardiology and Cardiology Associates in Shreveport performing consultations, stress testing, holters, echos and follow-up office visits with patients. Monday through Wednesday.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH — DeSoto Regional provides community outreach through various activities in the surrounding communities. Programs such as health fairs, blood drives with Life Share Blood Center, occupational health services to local businesses, community programs and educational seminars, career fairs, and programs/presentations to organizations through our Speakers Bureau upon request.

DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY — The Diagnostic Imaging Department at DeSoto Regional Health System offers a wide range of Diagnostic Imaging services including.

General Radiography
General Radiography includes double contrast barium examinations of the esophagus, stomach, small bowel and colon are performed, as well as plain radiography of the body and extremities.

Mammography
The mammography department is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Routine screening mammograms are performed as well diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasounds and needle localization of breast nodules or masses.

Bone Densitometry
The measurement of bone density for prevention and treatment of osteoporosis is available at DeSoto Regional Family Medicine (Mansfield).

Computed Tomography (CT)
A spiral CT scanner is available on a 24/7 basis to diagnose many conditions that are found in the human body including but not limited to: cardiovascular accidents, pulmonary embolisms, renal stones, spinal fractures, aortic aneurysms, and various tumors of the body. This modality is heavily utilized by the emergency department with real time reporting via teleradiology.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
A wide range of MRI procedures of the body are available. MRI provides highly detailed images of the body and assists primarily in the diagnosis of various conditions of the brain, spine, and extremities.

Diagnostic Ultrasound
Many types of diagnostic ultrasound procedures are available including abdominal, pelvic, cardiac, vascular and small parts.

Nuclear Medicine
A dual head nuclear camera is available to perform a full range of scans including liver/spleen, bone, lung, thyroid, bleeding, renal and exercise cardiac stress tests.

Surgical C-Arm
A state of the art C-arm imaging system is available to the surgery department. This technology allows the surgeon to view real time images of the body in order to insert catheters and pacemakers or to manipulate and align bones during orthopedic surgery.

EAR/NOSE/THROAT — Board Certified ENT specialists performing routine consultations for ENT problems and ENT surgeries, removal of facial skin lesions, and hearing evaluations. One Tuesday per month and every Friday morning.

EMERGENCY MEDICINE — DeSoto Regional has a 24-hour Emergency Department to serve DeSoto parish and surrounding areas. We treat approximately 12,500 patients each year. Our staff includes board certified emergency physicians, nurse practititioners, nurses specially trained in emergency medicine, and on-call physicians. FITNESS/WELLNESS — Programs such as weight loss, body-building, maintenance, arthritis programs, and general health improvement is offered through our Fitness First and Rehab. The center is operated by CPR trained staff and personal trainers and is open from 6 am until 8 pm M-F and 7am-12 pm on Saturday. We have a variety of equipment for personal use such as Treadmills, Ellipticals, Bikes, Free Weights, and machines.

GASTROENTEROLOGY — Board certified gastroenterologists available for consultations, colonoscopies, and esophagogastroduenoscopies (EGD). Physicians available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

GENERAL SURGERY — Surgical consults and general surgery on Tuesday mornings. Surgical consults, vascular and general surgery on Thursday mornings. Our Surgical Specialists are Board Certified.

GYNECOLOGY — Board Certified specialists focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of medical concerns and diseases for women. Wednesday mornings

HEMOCOLOGY/ONCOLOGY — Associate Professors of Medicine. Consultations for hematology-oncology, follows patients with chemotherapy, trial studies, and hematology problems. Participating in clinical trials with LSUMC in Shreveport. Alternating Mondays/Tuesdays.

NEPHROLOGY — Board Certified specialists concerned with the functioning of the kidneys. Consultations for abnormal lab results, uncontrolled high blood pressure, uncontrolled diabetes, and the monitoring of patients on dialysis. Alternating Thursdays/Fridays, some Wednesdays. Averages three times monthly.

NEUROLOGY — Board certified neurologist specializing in diseases of the nervous system. Consultations for EEGs, EMGs and rehabilitation services. Alternating Monday afternoons.

OPHTHALMOLOGY — Board Certified specialist in Corneal and Cataract Surgery as well as the treatment of other external eye diseases. Tuesday afternoons twice monthly.

ORTHOPAEDICS — Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. The practice specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of injuries and diseases of bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves. Alternating Friday mornings.

PHYSICAL & OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY — Outpatient rehabilitation services are offered through TheraTeam at Fitness First & Rehab at 124 Jefferson Street in Mansfield. Our office is open Monday through Friday with hours specific to your needs. Our highly trained staff offers expertise in all areas of rehabilitation, including: disorders of the spine, hand therapy, joint pain, wound care, stroke rehab, and post surgical rehab. PRIMARY CARE CLINIC — DeSoto Regional Family Medicine is located in Mansfield, La. and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Healthcare is provided for all ages. Doctors include Dr. Donald R. Taylor, Dr. W. Leigh Dillard, Dr. Jeffrey Evans, Dr. Ben Leggio and Dr. Denis Kamberov. Lori Eubanks and Jarrett Rule serve as the clinic's Nurse Practitioners

RURAL HEALTH CLINICS — Are located in the towns of Logansport, in DeSoto Parish, and Zwolle, in Sabine Parish, and are for the benefit and convenience of the communities DeSoto Regional serves.

Logansport
DeSoto Regional Family Medicine in Logansport is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Healthcare is provided for patients of all ages. Dr. Denis Kamberov is the medical director and sees patients on Friday mornings from 9:00 a.m - 12:00 noon. Melissa Richardson is a family nurse practitioner who sees patients daily.

Zwolle
Zwolle Rural Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30p.m. and on most Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Healthcare is provided for patients of all ages. Dr. Ben Leggio is the medical director and sees patients on Tuesday mornings from 9:00 a.m - 12:00 noon. Amy Garcie is a board certified acute care nurse practitioner who sees patients daily.
