Chief Executive Officer:
Todd Eppler, FACHE, CEO
Todd Eppler is the Chief Executive Officer for DeSoto Regional Health System. Todd grew up in Natchitoches, LA and after graduating from Natchitoches Central High School in 1982 attended Northwestern State for 2 years before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. His Air Force career began as an avionic communications system technician in Alaska. During his Alaskan assignment he completed his bachelorís degree in business administration and earned a commission to serve as in the health care administration field. Todd achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and his Air Force journey culminated at Barksdale AFB, LA, after 21 years of service.
Todd also earned a masterís degree in healthcare administration from the University of Alabama, Birmingham and is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Upon retiring from the Air Force, Toddís goal was to settle in the Shreveport area and complete a second career in health care management. He successfully earned a position with Willis-Knighton Health System and after serving 18 months as Assistant Vice President for Support Services, he was selected to lead Springhill Medical Center (SMC) as Chief Executive Officer. He led SMC for almost five years before taking his current position as CEO at DeSoto Regional Health System.
Todd met his wife (Janet) while working at Willis-Knighton and they were married in July 2012. Todd and Janet live in Bossier City and have four grown children and three beautiful grandchildren between them.
Chief Nurse Executive:
Vernadine Mitchell, RN
Vernadine "Verna" Mitchell is the Chief Nurse Executive at DeSoto Regional Health System. She was born in Gary, Indiana and lived in Florissant, Missouri until moving to Louisiana in the summer of 2006. She has been employed at DeSoto Regional since January 9, 2007. Verna has more than 46 years of nursing experience with 42 years in nursing management. She received her Diploma of Nursing from St. Louis Municipal School of Nursing in 1969. In 1982, she received a Bachelor Degree in Health Arts and , in 2003, a Master of Science in Health Administration Services.
Verna currently resides in Bossier City, Louisiana with her husband, Herron Mitchell, Sr., a retired Design Engineer with Boeing Aircraft. They have two children, Herron, Jr. and Veronica and five grandchildren. When not energetically working alongside her staff and caring for the patients at DeSoto Regional, she spends as much time as she can playing with her grandkids, Britney, Brielle, Larry III, Herron III and Londyn. She also enjoys reading, dancing, aerobics, gardening and watching her favorite sport, football. Geaux Saints!
Vice President of Ancillary Services:
Daniel Campbell, BSRT(R)(CT),RDMS,RDCS,RVT
Daniel Campbell is Vice President of Ancillary Services at DeSoto Regional Health System. He has been employed at DeSoto Regional since July 1991. Daniel has over 24 years of healthcare experience and 17 years in management. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Radiologic Technology from University of Louisiana Monroe, and holds certifications in radiology and computed tomography as well as general, cardiac and vascular ultrasound.
Daniel resides near Converse, Louisiana with his wife Julie and children Dylan and Kaitlyn. His hobbies include spending time in the outdoors hunting and fishing with family and friends.
Vice President of Rural Health Clinics and Industrial Medicine
Julie Campbell is the Vice President of Rural Health Clinics and Industrial Medicine for DeSoto Regional Health System. Julie was born in Houston and raised in the small community of Point Blank, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northwest State University in Natchitoches. She has 17 years of nursing experience but her relationship with DeSoto Regional goes back to when she volunteered in the ER and Radiology Department while attending nursing school. Julie has held many positions during her tenure at DeSoto Regional. Although she worked elsewhere for a short time, Julie returned to the health system in 2006 to become the Electronic Medical Records Specialist. She was instrumental in implementing the electronic record system for all the clinics and in 2010 successfully converted the status of Mansfield Family Medicine Clinic to a rural health clinic. In August of 2012, Julie accepted her current position overseeing the hospital's clinics in Mansfield, Logansport and Zwolle. Julie also manages the Industrial Medicine clinic in Mansfield.
Julie lives in Converse, Louisiana with her husband Daniel. They have two children, Dylan and Kaitlyn. Julie enjoys reading, cross stitching and spending time with her family outdoors. During the summer months, she can be found at one of her favorite spots on Toledo Bend either fishing, playing in or just relaxing on the water.
Chief Financial Officer
Sandra Anderson is the Chief Financial Officer at DeSoto Regional Health System. She was born and raised in Springhill, Louisiana before moving to Mansfield in 1982. She is a graduate of Mansfield High School and Northwest State University in Natchitoches from which she received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in May of 1990. Sandra began working for DeSoto Regional in April of 1993 and has worked in the Accounting Department since that time.
Sandra and her husband, Kenny, live in Stonewall. They have two sons, Kody and Kasey. Sandra enjoys spending time with her family and playing tennis.
