Placement of PICC Lines( peripherally inserted central catheters) is now available at Desoto Regional Health System.
PICC lines are intravenous devices placed by specially trained registered nurses. A PICC can be used for any type of IV therapy, medication administration, blood transfusions, and chemotherapy. A PICC can be placed in the outpatient or inpatient setting, and may remain in a patient for up to one year as needed. A PICC line can also be used for IV therapy in the home setting.
